Go Gamecocks!

I am a proud student at the University of South Carolina in the College of Science and Math. My major that I have finally decided on is Biology. It took me a while to decide, but I think that's where I belong. I love my classes, and right now in lab we are in the process of disecting rats. EW! They are gross, but I am really fascinated with their anatomy, so it's not so bad once you get to the inside systems and organs. My science fair project won a prize in high school and at the time I was embarrassed because I thought I looked like a nerd, but now I realize that learning Biology is fun, and I can't wait till I can make a career out of it, and get paid to do research. Who knows, I could discover the cure for cancer in the rainforests like in the movie "Medicine Man" with Sean Connery!

I am the #1 biggest Gamecock football fan. GO COCKS! I am proud of my school, and especially our football team. This season never had a dull moment. The first four games were awesome, and I witnessed history from the front row the two nights the goal posts came down in Columbia. Our losing streak is finally over! Our first away game was a disapointment, when we lost to Alabama, but we redeemed ourselves the next away game at Kentucky. Arkansas and Vanderbuilt were a breeze, but then came the challenge. The Tennessee game was a nail biter, and I was heartbroken when they beat us in the last little bit of the game. I wanted to cry afterwards, and almost got in a fight with some Tenn. fans. They won't know what hit them next year! Florida also broke my heart, because we were definitely the underdogs of the game, but I was really hoping they would pull off a few miracles and surprise everyone, like they did in the first quarter. After that, they gave up.
At this point in the season, I was sure that as long as we beat Clemson my faith would prove me right about the strength of our team. However, the game was tight the whole time, and right when it looked like we had a chance, we scored too soon leaving them the opportunity to do so also, costing us the game. They only beat us by a point. In a way we did show them up, but it would have been so much better if it had been us on top.
That's our season, but I can't wait till next year. The Gamecocks and Lou Holtz will be a force to be reckoned with, and we will dominate the SEC with a doubt in anyone's mind. They will get chills when they hear our 2001 Theme, like I still do everytime I hear it!
